What information do we gather?

Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device’s IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. Google Analytics – This cookie is used to collect information about how visitors use the site.  We use this information to compile reports and to help us improve the site.  The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and the pages they visited. We also use Google Signals. When Google Signals is activated, Google Analytics associate the visitation information it collects from site and/or apps with Google information from accounts of signed-in users who have consented to this association for the purpose of ads personalization. This Google information may include end-user location, search history, YouTube history, and data from sites that partner with Google—and is used to provide aggregated and anonymized insights into users’ cross-device behaviors.

Heap – We use Heap to understand and analyze the usage trends and preferences of our users, to improve our site, and to develop new products, services, features, and functionality. Heap uses both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to our site.

Hubspot – This is a functional persistent cookie provided by HubSpot Inc. (“HubSpot”) that allows us to recognize you when you return to our site. This also enables us to store information about your preferences and to allow us to customize our site according to your individual interests and to speed up your searches. The information generated by the HubSpot cookie about your use of the site (including your IP address) may be transmitted to and stored by HubSpot on servers outside of the EEA.

We also collect Personally Identifiable Information when you voluntarily submit it to us. Throughout our site, we provide the opportunity to register for an event or conference, order a white paper, or participate in an online survey or assessment. When we collect this type of information, we will notify you as to why we are asking for information and how this information will be used. It is completely up to you whether or not you want to provide it.

We also collect Personally Identifiable Information when you participate in an Online Course through the site or some form of surveys. Types of data we collect include, but not limited to, tracking progress, material downloads, mindset, mechanics, and measures of team performance and completion of an Online Course. Some of the data is used in research of learning impact performance, but all Personally Identifiable Information is removed as part of the research. We may also share your Personally Identifiable Information and your performance in a given Online Course with the trainer or trainers who taught or manage the course, with product development team members to assist with the creation, modification or operation of the course, and where appropriate, with account leads with which you may be associated with. Also, we may archive this information and/or use it for future communications with you, where we are legally entitled to do so.

How long do we keep this information for?

If you reside or are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we keep your information for no longer than necessary for the purposes for which the information is processed. The length of time we retain this information for depends on the purposes for which we collect and use it and/or as required to comply with applicable laws and to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.

Will we share this with outside parties?

As a global organization, data we collect may be transferred internationally throughout Emergn’s worldwide organization. We will not sell individual Personally Identifiable Information and will share it only with our advisors. There will be other times when we need to share information, for example, in the case of an event or education course where we need to provide our caterer with meal preference information. But again, before you submit any Personally Identifiable Information, we will notify you as to why we are asking for specific information and it is completely up to you whether or not you want to provide it.

What about sensitive personal data?

We do not generally seek to collect sensitive Personally Identifiable Information through this site. If we do seek to collect such information, we will ask you to consent to our proposed uses of the data. We may also collect some sensitive personal data incidentally. By providing us with unsolicited sensitive Personally Identifiable Information, you consent to our using the data subject to applicable law as described in this Privacy Policy. The references to “sensitive personal data” are to the various categories of Personally Identifiable Information by European and other data privacy laws as requiring special treatment, including in some circumstances the need to obtain explicit consent.
